The original series might not have been the best as far as acting, plotlines or script, but it is special to all fans for being the first, and for some of it's endearing qualities and characters. Where would Power Rangers be without Rita and Zedd, Jason, Tommy and Kimberly, Zordon, and of course Bulk and Skull?

The series begins with five teenagers, Jason, Zack, Billy, Trini and Kimberly being chosen to be superheroes known as Power Rangers. At first they all refuse, escept Jason. But they convince him to leave with them. Then they are attacked by a group of putties and have to use their morphers to defeat them, becoming the power rangers.

Once they defeat the putties and monster after, they are given the choice, whether to remain and fight or go back to their lives. They are reluctant, but decide to stay and defend the planet.

They fight successfully for many episodes, and then Tommy shows up, bringing trouble with him. Rita recruits him to be her evil green ranger and places him under a spell, forcing him to fight the rangers and deactivate Zordon. He does so, and nearly defeats the rangers over the next five episodes. But eventually they are able to break the spell over him, and he returns to normal. Jason offers him a spot on the team, and though Tommy is hesitant, he accepts and becomes the sixth ranger.

The new team faces many challenges, both from Rita and soon Zedd, and their lives as normal teenagers. They go through jealousy, anger, rivalry, guilt, pain and loss, but stay the best of friends through it all.

It isn't long before Tommy must give up his powers, when they discover Rita has them contained in a candle and can use them for her own purposes. He gives them to Jason, and Tommy leaves the team. Only to return again for a brief stint when his powers are temporarily renewed, and then leave again when they are destroyed. Then he returns yet again, as the white ranger and new leader of the team, and so begins Tommy's famous color switches!

Soon Jason, Zack and Trini are chosen to be teen ambassadors in a peace conference in Switzerland, and they leave the ranger team. Zordon chooses three new teens who carry on the legacy well, Rocky, Adam and Aisha.

Rocky DeSantos

Adam Park

Aisha Campbell

Rocky, Adam and Aisha just moved to Angel Grove form Stone Canyon, and almost immediately were thrown into the world of Power Rangers and monsters. They are captured by a monster for their amazing martial arts abilities, and it is demanded that they fight for evil. Each of them refuses, and they sit in wait for whatever will happen to them.

The Power Rangers come and rescue them, and during the rescue the three discover the identities of Tommy, Billy and Kimberly. The rangers take them to the command center and explain everything, and they promise not to tell. From then on they give the rangers assistance when they are attacked and become valuable allies. When they need replacements, these three were the obvious choice.

The rangers continue on strong without the other three, and face many more trials and sorrows along their way, but they always come through. The three new rangers fit in well and form fast friendships, and the others are mentioned briefly every once in a while.

When Rita's brother, Rito Revolto, shows up, it's he beginning of more trouble. He brings with him the new tenga warriors, and the Vampirus egg, and is able to defeat the rangers and destroy their thunderzords.

The rangers are now powerless, and travel to the Desert of Despair to find Ninjor, the Keeper of the Zords and creator of the power coins. It's a rough journey, their map is taken and attacks are frequent, but they finally make it to the cave where Ninjor resides. He refuses to give them their powers at first because he distrusts their motives, but eventually he is convinced and he gives them their new ninja powers, and along with that he returns with them to fight. When they return they defeat Vampirus, and continue their fight with the new powers.

Katherine Hillard

Then a new face appears, Katherine Hillard, commonly known as Kat. She is placed under a spell by Rita, giving her the strange ability to become a cat, and causes some serious trouble. It's known from the start that she has a thing for Tommy, and seems dead-set on getting rid of Kimberly. She takes her power coin, nearly killing Kimberly, and is inadvertedly responsible when Kimberly falls off the beam and injures herself. But the spell is eventually broken, and she becomes fast friends with Kimberly, in awe that she could be forgiven so easily.

Kimberly is given the chance of a lifetime to train in gymnastics with a famous coach, but it is in Florida, and it would mean leaving the team. She decides to stay, but the others convince her to go, follow her dream, they would support her.

So she agrees, and brings Katherine in, saying she would be the best replacement for her. Zordon and the others agree, and Kat joins the team, while Kimberly goes her own way.
